Tässä osiossa käsitellään kääntämisen ja lokalisointiteknologian
uusimpia menettelytapoja ja prosesseja sekä annetaan neuvoja ja vinkkejä siitä,
miten erilaisisten käännös- ja lokalisointitarpeiden ratkaisemiseksi kannattaa
menetellä erilaisissa tilanteissa.
Käännöstä ja lokalisointia käyttävien ja tilaavien asiakkaiden
on hyödyllistä ymmärtää, että omien tavoitteiden ja tarpeiden
selvittäminen on tärkeää jo ennen käännös- ja lokalisointiprojektin
aloittamista.
Tuijottaminen pelkästään alhaisiin kustannuksiin voi joskus kostautua pahasti heikkolaatuisen lopputuloksen kielteisillä vaikutuksilla. Toisaalta usein ammattitaitoisen lokalisointikonsultin hyödyntäminen projektin alkuvaiheessa maksaa itsensä takaisin jo ensimmäisissä tuotantovaiheissa, kun vältytään moninkertaisilta virheratkaisuilta, niiden korjailuilta ja tietämättömyydestä aiheutuvien epätaloudellisten prosessien ja työkalujen käyttämisestä syntyviltä ylimääräisiltä kustannuksilta.
